Job Description

Settlements Officer With offices across Australia & New Zealand, First Mortgage Services Pty Limited and First American Title Insurance form part of the First American Financial Corporation. We offer property risk insurance and premier mortgage processing and logistic services to our clients.

About the Role:
Due to significant organisational growth, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a casual Settlements Prep Officer to commence within our Brisbane CBD office. Reporting to the Team Leader, this role will suit an energetic individual with mortgage processing experience, attention to detail & ability to work in a fast paced environment. Hours of work will be rostered between 7:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

The main duties of this role will be to attend to the processing of services and functions within the Settlements team including attending to the processing of settlement instructions and check directions to ensure timely, accurate completion of settlements.

  • Attend settlement at scheduled time and place. Ensure all requirements for settlement are met and any documents and/or bank cheques are handed over before agreeing to complete settlement
  • Update relevant systems including concise notes
  • Attend to lodgement of registration of documents within agreed service levels
  • Attend to any requisitions received
  • Adherence to service level agreements as per client agreements
  • Processing of post settlement tasks including system updates, banking, client contact
  • Complete post settlements activity
  • Skills & Experience:
  • Prior experience with mortgage documentation in a customer service role is essential
  • Familiarity with land titles and property law
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a high pressure, high volume work environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage conflict with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
