We are currently seeking a high performing and safety focused Safety Training Coordinator, based at the Sojitz Gregory Mine located near Emerald in the Bowen Basin.

About the role

Reporting to the CHPP Manager, this role will be responsible for the ongoing development, design and implementation of the Safety Health Management System. There will be a strong focus on training and development as we ramp up. You will also provide safety leadership and guidance along with reporting on safety and training performance.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Supporting site training systems / standards ensuring that industry best practice is achieved
  • Co-ordinate training needs for the Process plant whilst working alongside field trainers and assessors
  • Maintain training records
  • Facilitate inductions and assist with onboarding
  • Solid experience in maintaining and supporting the Site Safety Health Management System
  • Ability to drivea strong, positive safety culture to support continual improvement in safety performance
  • Monitoring, measuring and reporting on site HST performance
  • Participate in risk assessments and ICAMs
  • Plan and conduct safety meetings, competency assessments, task observations and inspections
  • Conducting system and performance standards audits across site, assisting with the development and implementation of safety improvement plans
  • Qualifications, skills and experience required:

  • Relevant Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills coupled with developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of applicable QLD legislation and statutory compliance
