About the role
The Manager Stakeholder Engagement will be the localised representative of AusIMM in QLD/NSW. Working closely with the GM Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships; Senior Manager Member Engagement; and Senior Advisor Media and Policy (all Melbourne based) and the Stakeholder Engagment Manager WA (based in Perth) they will support the growth and influence of AusIMM in QLD/NSW through developing new, and building on existing relationships with corporate partners/supporters, government, media and industry - maintaining strong engagement with key stakeholders in these areas and looking for ways to continuously improve the AusIMM service offering.
Engagement activities will include identifying, developing and securing partnership opportunities within existing partner and potential partner organisations. These relationships are fostered through consultative and solution-based selling and working collaboratively with other AusIMM departments including the Conference and Marketing teams.
The role will support the AusIMMs trusted voice strategy which involves enhancing the public face of the organisation, developing and progressing key advocacy platforms relevant to resources professionals and raising the profile of these issues in the media, across government, and with industry.
As a localised point of contact and representative for AusIMM members, branches, and communities of interest in QLD/NSW the role will support a tight connection and effective communication between the activities of the AusIMM management team and the activities of the membership and branches. This will include attending and making presentations at relevant branch activities and events to communicate AusIMM initiatives and representing AusIMM at industry conferences and other networking events.
The role has no direct reports. Travel within QLD/NSW and to Melbourne and some out of hours work will be involved.
You are a highly self-motivated and organised relationship manager with outstanding communication skills, experience in developing and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders and the ability to influence purchasing behaviour. Tertiary qualifications in Business/Management/Marketing and any experience in supporting government relations, policy and media activities will be an advantage.
