Corporate Solicitor - Regulatory Due to a vacancy within our legal team we are seeking an engaging and energetic lawyer to join our in house legal team based in our Sydney CBD offices. The role is responsible for the provision of high quality legal services within the regulatory space to a number of divisions within Allianz Australia. Our team regularly takes leadership of large and complex legal matters with strategic importance to the Allianz Australia group. Given the dynamic nature of the financial regulatory regime, we are looking for an individual who can advise on developments in relevant regulations and industry codes as these affect the business, and work with the team in relation to its interactions with regulators. Reporting to the Executive Legal Counsel - Regulatory this role also provides legal support, in those areas, to the Board, Managing Director and Senior Management. Responsibilities As a key member of the Regulatory Legal Team, you will be responsible for providing legal services in relation to areas which fall within the Teams responsibility, which include: Advising on the implementation of regulatory developments, including the impact of these developments on the design and development of existing and new products; Implementing and managing regulatory remediation programs, addressing any rectification issues and assisting in the establishment of best practices in the business Interacting with regulators (including APRA, ASIC and AFCA) and working with the business and compliance teams in relation to governance and financial conduct reporting, and responding to regulatory investigations Working with industry bodies to develop and interpret applicable codes of practice and working internally to implement these codes Working with the compliance and risk functions to ensure that appropriate governance structures are in place across the Allianz Australia group Skills You will possess the following skills: Strong technical legal skills in one or more of insurance law, financial services regulation or banking and finance Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Strong influencing and negotiation skills Effective organisation skills Incisive commercial judgement About YouThe successful applicant will be a high achiever with the following experience and attributes: 5-10 years post qualification experience in an in-house role and/or at senior associate level or above in a large law firm Experience in one or more of the insurance, financial services or banking and finance sectors Conscientious with a strong attention to detail The ability to work both autonomously and as a member of a team A willingness to embrace change and a strong commitment to an inclusive culture Due to a vacancy within our legal team we are seeking an engaging and energetic lawyer to join our in house legal team based in our Sydney CBD offices.
