Job Description

Controls Monitoring & Assurance Specialist The energy industry is undergoing a radical transformation. As one of Australias largest generators of electricity, we are stepping up to light the way towards a cleaner energy future. The purpose of the Compliance Uplift and Management team is to ensure the Customer business unit adheres to regulatory requirements and obligations. This includes ensuring obligation owners understand the requirements, providing advice to ensure the necessary processes and controls are in place and verifying that these controls are operationalised effectively. Providing assurance to management that Customer processes are appropriately controlled and meet regulatory requirements is paramount to what we do. About the role As the Controls Monitoring and Assurance Specialist, you will maintain and implement an assurance framework to ensure controls implemented adhere to regulatory requirements and operate as intended. You will embed the controls monitoring process to provide assurance to EnergyAustralia management, our Board, regulators and our customers, to confirm compliance measures are being managed, and EnergyAustralia is compliant with our obligations. This would include: Conduct regular controls monitoring to check that business areas are complying with their specific obligations. Process assurance reviews Communicate results of assurance testing The assurance program is regularly reviewed to identify improvements. Areas of non-compliance are identified and corrective actions taken and reported to senior management Stakeholders are regularly consulted for feedback regarding process improvements What were looking for: Experience within an energy risk or compliance, audit or control, and regulatory environment Experience in delivering governance, oversight and assurance processes Strong skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint, confidence in using a range of reporting systems Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills.
