Hale School is Western Australias oldest independent boys school. Located in the suburb of Wembley Downs, the current campus is situated on a magnificent 48 hectare site, approximately 13 kilometres to the north-west of Perth and two kilometres from the coast.
The role of the Housemothers in Brine House is a pastoral one. Their focus is on meeting some of the needs of boys that would ordinarily be met by their Mothers. Hours of work will be confirmed in discussion with another Brine House Housemother, for a total of 20 hours per week. The successful applicant will:
have competencies in cleaning and general housekeeping duties
possess well developed communication skills to enable them to communicate effectively with boarding staff and young boys aged from 10 to 14
provide a compassionate presence for all boys
discuss and model life skills such as hygiene, sewing, cooking and washing
assist with supervision of the House and be able to engage boys in discussion to gauge their overall welfare
maintain the ethos of Hale School by acting in a manner that supports the Schools values, Statement of Purpose, Ethos and Anglican framework
be aware of and understand the obligations of working in accordance with the Schools Mandatory Reporting, Child protection, Staff Conduct and Discipline and Critical Incident Management policies and procedures
follow all duties, responsibilities and relevant policies specific to the management and operations of the boarding community. In particular, understand procedures relating to evacuation, lockdown and emergency management in their work area
hold a current National Police Clearance
hold a current Working with Children Check clearance
